Eating disorders

Eating disorders can affect any person at any stage in life. If you are struggling with an eating disorder, working with a dietitian can help you meet your individual needs and support your recovery. Here at Nutrition in Mind, we are credentialed eating disorder clinicians and are experienced in helping people develop a calm relationship with food so that you can spend time doing the things you love.

Who do we support?

We provide personalised nutrition for people struggling with an eating disorder. We take a weight-neutral approach and help you to eat in a way that nourishes your body and meets your goals. We provide support to adults (18 years and older) with a focus on:

  • Binge eating disorder

  • Anorexia nervosa

  • Bulimia nervosa

  • Orthorexia

  • Chronic dieting

  • Disordered eating

  • Eating concerns alongside digestive health conditions

What does a dietitian appointment involve?

Working with a dietitian through recovery will help you understand the role of food and nutrition for your health and wellbeing. All appointments are personalised to meet your unique goals in recovery and your dietitian will provide a supportive and empathetic environment to unpack the challenging thoughts and behaviours associated with food and eating.

We will support you to establish regular eating patterns that provide you with the nourishment required to engage in recovery. Your dietitian will help you understand how nutrition impacts your physical, mental, and emotional health and you will grow in your nutrition knowledge. We take a non-judgemental approach and support you to challenge the eating disorder thoughts.

We are proud to take a non-diet approach that focuses on health and wellbeing. We want to challenge the rules of diet culture that have made eating and health so challenging. Eating should be something that fuels us and that we enjoy not something we obsess over or feel guilty about.
